The History of the Land

Originally built as an Art Ashram in 1984 the Land was conceived as a place for people to come to and use the space and facilities creatively. It was the location for INSCAPE (the Indian School of Art for Peace) an informal school of art and artistic foundation which was formed by Jyoti Sahi and continues to work with artists and fund creative projects.

Labyrinth began work here in 1997 when Kiran and Roshan Sahi and a group of designers worked together to develop the techniques which Labyrinth now specialise in of making large scale ceramic murals.

In 2003 the space began to be used for educational activities and creative workshops under the name of Sangam alongside Labyrinth?s studio commissions and the space was developed to be able to comfortably accommodate residential groups of teachers and students from India and abroad
