Art and Dialogue |

In a sense we not only dialogue on the human level, by talking to each other as a group, but also on the more elemental level of being together in a particular place. Here the dialogue is extended to our interaction with the whole of creation, and the trees and plants in the garden also speak to us and through us, as we work creatively with our lived environment. It is in this sense that an art ashram is a place of dialogue, not only between those who come to spend some time together in a natural surrounding, but also between the human community and the whole of creation. We begin our dialogue process by going for a walk around the ashram premises, and thinking about the ashram garden, and what it has to say to us, inspiring the imagination to dream up new forms. Art as dialogue touches on a poetic reality, where we become co-creators of the world in which we live. |
