Tree of Life

This mural was made for the Aditi School, we were asked to explore ideas in relation to the elemental forces of nature. The final concept that was approved depicted a tree rising from the ground and growing towards the sun. The roots of the tree mimic the rays of the sun. The tree symbolizes growth and movement nurtured by the elements and was accepted as a parallel symbol to the child. The material and process that we followed is different to what we presently work with. The glass chips which are in 72 shades of colour were composed using a computerized process, and the chips were physically laid out with the help of computer printouts.
