Themes for the windows of Prabodhana

A series of fourteen scenes from the Passion of Jesus Christ as described in the Gospels, are represented like Stations of the Cross. However, these Stations do not follow precisely the traditional form that is used as a meditation in the Church especially during the season of Lent. This series is based on events which are largely to be found in the Gospels. Each station of the Cross is represented above in a series of arched window frames, with fixed transparent, coloured panel-designs. Below each of these arched windows, are two open windows that have metal grills representing scenes from the Bible that are related to the Passion of Jesus. In the Christian iconography related to the depiction of Biblical events, as used in the Lectionary of the Liturgy, a system of ?Types of Christ? has been followed, going back to a practice which was used in the early Church. Here Biblical stories are interpreted in the light of the main events in the life and ministry of Jesus. This procedure links Old Testament events to important themes found in the life and Passion of Jesus as described in the Gospels
